Nikoletta Frintzila
Nikoletta Frintzila was born in Athens and lives in Eleusis. In 1999 she graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA, department of Linguistics) and in 2000 she obtained the CEDEFOP Certificate in Professional Translation (Institut Français de Grèce).
In 2003 she graduated summa cum laude the NKUA Postgraduate Study Programme of the Department of Theatre Studies, entitled “Greek Theatre from antiquity to today: Theory and Practice”, with a senior thesis on “The French vaudeville and its traces in modern Greek theatre of the 19th century (1864-1900)”.

She adapted the play “Le legs” by Marivaux into a Vaudeville play for Dromos me Dentra Theatre Company (2005) and translated the Vaudeville “L'Affaire de la rue de Lourcine” by E. Labiche (Poreia theatre, 2010-2011).
In 2010 she translated (from French) the plays “Dreams” by Ivan Viripaev and in 2012 the play “Three Sisters” by Anton Pavlovich Chekov (Dromos me Dentra Theatre Company, Baumstrasse 2012).
In 2013 & 2014 she translated for the Dromos me Dentra Theatre Company the plays “Les Caprices de Marianne” and “Il faut qu'une porte soit ouverte ou fermée” by Alfred de Musset, the poet's love letters to Georg Sand, “Six poems to Georg Sand”, as well as passages from “La Confession d'un enfant du siècle”.
Apart from theatrical translations, she has translated the works “La soie en Occident” by Jacques Anquetil and “Les Industries De La Soierie” by Jean Vaschalde (to meet the requirements of the publication “The silk of Smyrna”, 2007), she has rendered into Greek poems by Carl Sandburg, Steven Wallace, George Sand, Alfred de Musset, T. S. Eliot, Lord Byron and Samuel Beckett and has translated passages by Archilochus, Sappho and Simonides.
