Nikos Hatzopoulos


He was born in Piraeus. He is a graduate of the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens and of Veaki Drama School. Since 1984, he has been consistently working as an actor, participating in performances of a wide and varied repertoire. He had a lasting collaboration with Lefteris Voyatzis’s Nea Skini, the Amore Theatre as well as with the National Theatre of Greece. As of 2002, he has also embarked on a career as a director. He has directed 21 performances, mostly for the Athens Festival, the Amore Theatre and the Art Theatre. He has also translated English, French and Spanish plays into Greek. Among others, 9 of his translations of plays by William Shakespeare have been performed on stage. He teaches Acting in the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece.
